It looks like Tony Ferguson is doing everything in his power to overcome his personal issues at home.
It was reported last week that Ferguson’s wife had filed a restraining order against the former UFC interim lightweight champion, claiming that ‘El Cucuy’ had been acting mentally unstable around the family.
Ferguson’s wife, Cristina Ferguson, claims her husband threw holy water on her, destroyed items in their California home and talked about a computer chip being implanted in his leg.
Ferguson has received support from the UFC and his fellow fighters, with UFC star Conor McGregor wishing the 35-year-old a healthy recovery.
Ferguson has been hugely thankful for the support, and the The Ultimate Fighter 13 winner posted on Twitter earlier today that he is getting the professional help he needs.
“Psychologist appt went well, thanks doc. Champ shit only,” Ferguson posted on social media.
Ferguson last fought late last year against former WEC and UFC lightweight champion Anthony Pettis, beating ‘Showtime’ in a Fight of the Night classic at UFC 229. The Californian is on an eleven-fight win streak and is currently the No. 1-ranked lightweight contender in the world.
