Three-division champion Leo Santa Cruz is looking to return to the ring successfully this Saturday, against Chris Avalos (27-5, 20 KOs) of Lancaster at the Stub Hub Center in Carson, California.
After two wars against Northern Ireland’s Carl Frampton, Leo seeks to achieve a major victory, with the intention of positioning himself in another prime spot. It’s mentioned that if Abner Mares wins his respective combat vs. Andres Gutierrez, Leo and him will fight again.
Leo commented:
“Avalos is a strong fighter. I never underestimate anyone. Any opponent I step in the ring with is dangerous. I respect anyone that gets in the ring,”
“He has 27 wins and 20 of them are knockouts. So he has pop. He has fought some really good fighters faced some champions and lost to great champions.
“I know him since back in the days we fought as amateurs. It was a tough fight, we both went at it but at the end of the day, I beat him. They have always wanted the rematch and they never got it…until now.”Leo concluded.
