TOQUERO, NAITO MAKE WEIGHT IN JAPAN

FILIPINO lightweight Argie “Bomba” Toquero and his Japanese opponent Rikki Naito both made their weight today (July 1) for their non-title fight tomorrow at the Yano Fitness Center in Zama, Kanagawa, Japan.
Toquero submitted 134.8 lbs. while Naito tipped the scales at 135 lbs.
The other Filipino fighter Rey “Stingray” Las Pinas, who is managed by Monique Santig, made 125 lbs. while his rival Junpei Toriumi was 126 lbs.
“Magandang laban pareho ito at dahil only six rounds, maagang bakbakan agad ito. Matira ang matibay,” said international matchmaker Brico Santig in a telephone interview.
Toquero and Naito are the main event of the Indepedence Day Special  event dubbed as the” Pacific Boxing Showdown in Camp Zama.”
The boxing card is presented by the US Army Garrison Japan and Katsumata Promotion at the Yano Fitness Center in Zama, Kanagawa, Japan.
Toquero has 9 wins, 4 loses, 2 draws, 7 Kos while Naito is toting 14 wins, 1 loss, 0 draw.
Las Pinas, on the other hand, has 21 wins, 12 loses, 6 draws, 12 Kos while Toriumi has 13 wins, 12 loses, 2 draws.
