Torres split decisions Ion

Southpaw Bernard Angelo “La Maquina” Torres of Tagbilaran City won by a split decision over Costin Ion of Romania last Dec. 19 at Bolera Severino Prieto in Torrelavega, Spain.

The 24-year-old Torres, who is now a resident of Gran, Norway got 78-76 for two judges while the lone judge scores 77-76 for Ion.

Toores now has 13 wins with five knockouts. Torres, a featherweight made three wins with one knockout in 2020. He stopped Sergio Gonzalez of Nicaragua in the 1st round last Feb. 22 at Gimnasio Metropolitano in Madrid.

He then scored a unanimous decision over Alexander Cazares of Mexico last Aug. 21 at El Malecon in Torrelavega.

The manager and agent of Torres are Roar Soerum while the promoter is Sergio Martinez.
