Toshihiko Era Knocks Out Silem Serang in Highland Show in Thailand

BANGKOK, Thailand — In a tough war, hard-hitting Toshihiko Era (9-1, 8 KO’s) of Osaka, Japan, stopped in five rounds battle-tested Indonesian warrior Silem Serang, 33, to retain his ABF Flyweight Title.

The exciting rumble unfolded last Wednesday in a Highland Boxing Promotions show Wednesday, December 28, at the cozy SpacePlus Night Club here in Bangkok, Kingdom of Thailand.

Silem of Depok, Indonesia, began fast and furious, dominating Era in the early going.

But after the third round, the aggressive veteran Nippon fighter gained control of the battle, pursuing his his enemy, landing on him with damaging right hooks to the head and lefts impacts body.

In the faithful 5th chapter, Era punished Silem even further, rocking him down to the canvas, prompting top Thai referee Worawuth Duankhao to waive off.

The win was Era’s the second defense of the ABF Flyweight Belt that he conquered last March 26 at the Habtoor Grand Hotel in Dubai, U.A.E.

In attendance during the rumble was ABF President Naris Singwancha of Thailand.

The fight was a promotion of award-winning Filipino promoter/matchmaker Brico Santig, director of Highland Boxing Promotions.
