World Boxing Council Silver cruiserweight champion, Congolese Ilunga Makabu (25-2, 24 KOs), will defend his championship on August 24 at the Traktor Sport Palace in Chelyabinsk, Russia against dangerous undefeated Russian Aleksei Papin (11- 0-0, 10 Ko’s).
Makabu comes from winning the WBC Silver crown by knocking out Russian Dmitry Kudryashov in the fifth round.
Papin fought on the same card starring Makabu, on June 6 and when both of them won.
Ilunga intends to achieve another important victory by impressively defending his WBC Silver title, in order to gain another opportunity to contest the world cruiserweight belt.
