The Russian Eduard Troyanovsky and the Paraguayan Carlos Manuel Portillo will meet on Monday, November 27, in Moscow, Russia. The fight between both World Boxing Association (WBA) ranked boxers will be an eliminatory for the Super Lightweight title, which is currently vacant.
The home fighter hit the scales at 139.1 pounds, while his opponent stopped the scale at 139.3 pounds, both below the limit at 140 pounds, which leaves them ready for the important bout that can put them just one step from the belt of the division.
The winner between Troyanovsky and Portillo will have the right to fight against whoever wins the world title fight between Cuban Rances Barthelemy (first ranked) and the Belarusian Kiryl Relikh (number two of the category), which has tentative date on January 13 .
As mandated by the WBA Rules, the top-ranked boxers in the division must fight an elimination bout to define the mandatory challenger. Portillo is number three and Troyanovsky is in the fourth place in the category.
The South American has a record of 21 wins, no defeats and 16 knockouts, while the Russian has a record of 26 wins, one loss and 13 knockouts.
