Myron Dennis returns to the GLORY ring this month with revenge in mind as he sets out to level the scores between himself and local light-heavyweight Brian Collette at GLORY 32 Virginia.
Myron Dennis (18-4, 8 KO’s), who featured on The Ultimate Fighter 23 recently, lost a unanimous decision to Brian Collette (22-3, 18 KO’s) at GLORY 19 last year. It was a high-paced encounter which saw both of them landing bombs before Collette started to edge ahead. He found a weakness in Dennis’ leg kick defense and mercilessly exploited it before changing tactics and landing a third-round head kick which nearly ended the fight.
That head kick knockdown won Collette the final round and thereby the fight, as the judges had scored one round for each of them up to that point. Since then Dennis has been focused on Mixed Martial Arts, culminating in his appearance on the latest season of The Ultimate Fighter, where he won one fight to get into the house but then was eliminated in his next.
Now back in the kickboxing arena he will once again travel from his native Oklahoma City to take on Collette, who was originally set to take on New Jersey’s Karl Roberson before an injury forced a pull-out. Collette is 1-1 in kickboxing since their last meeting while Dennis, brother of GLORY heavyweight Demoreo Dennis, will have to shake off some kickboxing ring-rust in this short notice fight.
GLORY 32 Virginia takes place Friday, July 22 at the Ted Constant Convocation Center in Norfolk, Virginia. The main card airs live on ESPN3 at 10pm ET and live+1hr (11pm ET)on ESPN2. It is headlined by featherweight champion Serhiy Adamchuk of Ukraine defending the title against the man he took it from back in November, Canada’s Gabriel Varga.
Collette vs Dennis takes place on the ‘Superfight Series’ section of the card, which precedes the numbered card and airs live and exclusively worldwide on UFC Fight Pass. That card is headlined by Chi Lewis-Parry, a friend and team mate of Daniel Cormier at American Kickboxing Academy, facing off with Chicago heavyweight Maurice ‘Moe the Pirate’ Greene.
