The Ultimate Fighter 28’s featherweight champion Macy Chiasson is dropping to 135 pounds for her next fight.
Chiasson, fresh off of an impressive run on the UFC’s long-running reality series, will face Gina Mazany in a bantamweight bout at UFC 235 on March 2 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, per the Las Vegas Review-Journal.
This will be Chiasson’s first fight at 135 pounds. The 27-year-old made a successful Invicta FC debut in May with a unanimous decision win over Allison Schmidt before taking part in TUF 28where she finished Larissa Pacheco, Leah Letson, and Pannie Kianzad (the latter at the finale show in November) to capture that season’s trophy. Not counting the bouts in the TUF house, which are classified as exhibitions, Chiasson holds a 3-0 pro record.
Mazany (5-2) is coming off of a unanimous decision loss to Lina Lansberg at UFC Liverpool in May. In her UFC career so far, the Las Vegas resident has sandwiched a unanimous decision win over Yanan Wu between losses to Lansberg and Sara McMann.
