Conor McGregor seems to be promoting his whiskey more than his fighting nowadays. He claims his own brand of Proper Twelve whiskey is the direct competitor to Jameson, and the former two-division UFC champion has been retweeting just about every fan who has purchased a bottle.

This is why Max Holloway’s latest tweet drew some laughs from those following the situation. The featherweight champion recently tweeted his support for a whiskey brand that’s a “true pillar of Ireland” and isn’t just “a watered down trend.”

McGregor originally decisioned Holloway back in 2013, when they were just 25 and 21-years-old, respectively.

The Irishman went on to win titles in two divisions, before losing both belts. Khabib Nurmagomedov, who last defeated McGregor, now holds the lightweight title. Holloway is now the featherweight champion, with 13-straight wins and all four championship bouts ending in TKOs.

McGregor, who has been picking fights on social media as of late, has yet to respond to Holloway’s subtle jab.
