Two truly Great Mexicans striding towards the Nevada Boxing Hall of Fame

All time Mexican Boxing Greats  Humberto “Chiquita” González and Juan Manuel Márquez will be inducted into  the Hall of Fame of Nevada on August 9 and 10, at the Red Rock Casino.

The  boxers will receive the tribute along with other legends Bernard Hopkins, Terry Norris, in addition to coach Floyd Mayweather, father of Floyd Mayweather Jr.

“Chiquita” González and “Dinamita” Márquez will be inductes as part of the non-residents category, along with Ronald “Winky Wright, Vinny Paz and Bobby Chacon ( posthumously).

Inducted in the category of Nevada residents, Joel Casamayor, Wayne McCullough, Hasim Rahman and Leroy Haley (posthumously)

Humberto became a professional fighter  in 1984, was able to conquer the light fly title of the World Boxing Council on June 25, 1989 and retired in 1995, after a thrilling lion hearted career.

Juan Manuel Márquez,  began his career as pro in 1993, was a world four-time champion (feather, super feather, light and superlight) and said goodbye to the ring in 2014. His fourth encounter with Manny Pacquiao, in which he landed a terrific KO to bring down the curtain on the series, has already passed into Boxing legend.
