One of the top lower-weight prospects in MMA is making his return to the cage.
Jose Torres, a two-weight Titan FC champion, will defend the bantamweight title against Gleidson DeJesus in the main event of Titan FC 46 on Nov. 17 in Pembroke Pines, Fla., promotion COO Lex McMahon told MMA Fighting on Monday.
Torres (5-0) was supposed to defend his flyweight title against Gustavo Eddy Balart on the card, but the matchup was “put on hold,” McMahon said, and Torres will put the bantamweight belt on the line instead. Torres, 25, beat Farkhad Sharipov for the 135-pound title in May. He has held the flyweight championship since August 2016.
DeJesus (7-2) has won three in a row, most recently a first-round submission win over Chino Duran at Titan 45 in August. DeJesus, 25, fights out of American Top Team.
Also on the card, Michael Cora will face Isidro Rodriguez in a welterweight bout, Balart will take on Marcelo Castaneda at 125 pounds, Jorge Calvo meets Juan Puerta in a flyweight fight, McMahon said.
More contests will be announced shortly, he added. Titan FC will take place at Pembroke Pines City Center and air live on UFC Fight Pass.
