Promoter Greg Ahrens and matchmaker Carlos Llinas present the latest installment of their “Night of Knockouts” series this Friday at Detroit’s Motor City Casino-Hotel with an intriguing main event featuring Lanardo Tyner against Winfred Harris, Jr. Young Harris has built a gaudy 13-0, 8 KO’s record in a short span of less than 18 months including 6 wins in 2017 alone. A close examination of his record reveals however, that he has yet to face an opponent with a winning record. On the other hand, ring vet Tyner has fought them all including Canelo Alvarez, Antonio DeMarco, Jessie Vargas, and Vivian Harris to name a few in compiling a 32-10-2, 20 KO’s record. Further, Tyner has never been stopped or knocked out and has only been knocked down twice, the most recent being in his last fight. At 41 years old, Tyner is certainly on the downside of his career. Whether he has slipped enough to let a young aggressive newcomer like Harris beat him creates the intrigue in this matchup between these two Detroiters. Harris who is naturally the bigger man will have significant advantages in height and reach over Tyner as well. This 8 round super welterweight contest has all the ingredients for a very good and interesting fight.

Other scheduled matches on the nine bout card has John Chalbeck up against Rick Morias over 6 rounds. In other 6 round contests Darryl Cunningham takes on Lenwood Dozier, Isiah Jones battles Carlos Dixon, and Ray Darden mixes it up with Eric Moon. 4 rounders feature Bobby Tucker vs Marcus Wheeler, Sinan Fradi vs Rakim Johnson, Robert Sims vs Henry Wright, and Cortez Chambliss vs Micha Perkins.

Doors open Friday at 6:30 PM with first bout scheduled at 7:15 PM
Tickets available at ticketmaster.com or the Motor City Casino-Hotel box office.
