Tyson Fury sends message to Eddie Hearn

Boxingnews24.com

By Scott Gilfoid: Tyson Fury took to social media to reticule Anthony Joshua’s promoter Eddie Hearn to gloat about being on the verge of facing WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder in November. Hearn had been saying recently that the Wilder-Fury fight wouldn’t be happening, but now he’s about to eat his words and Fury is gloating majorly 100 percent about it.

Fury likes the idea that Hearn isn’t getting his hooks in the promotion of the Fury-Wilder fight. Fury is about to take the fight that Joshua and Hearn chose not to take in Wilder. That’s something for Fury to celebrate, since he was willing to risk everything to face the 6’7” Wilder. Fury has everything to gain. A win over Wilder makes Fury the biggest name in the heavyweight division. It also will give him a big advantage over Joshua in the negotiations when the two of them sit down to start negotiations.

Hearn had the chance recently to put together a monstrous unification fight between Joshua (21-0, 20 Kos) and he unbeaten World Boxing Council heavyweight champion Wilder (40-0, 39 KOs), but he decided to take his fighter AJ to safer pastures by matching him against Alexander Povetkin on September 22 instead.

Fury said this on his social media site:

”I’m just sitting here thinking, ‘isn’t marvelous that the biggest fight, Fury vs. Wilder and that smug little tosser Eddie Hearn has nothing to do with it at all. He has nothing to do with the biggest fight or is his puppet [Anthony Joshua] on the string, his fighter he’s got, they’re not invited in the biggest fight the world has ever seen between the two biggest heavyweights in the planet, the two most controversial, most outspoken heavyweights on the planet, both over 6’6”, both talkers, one Brit, one American. Isn’t marvelous this fight is going to happen, and Eddie Hearn has nothing to do with it. He is boiling. First he said, ‘it’s not going to happen,’ and then ‘it’s nearly done.’”

Hearn did a good job of getting his fighter Joshua out of danger recently by offering Wilder a low ball $15 million flat fee for a fight, and then not giving him a date or venue for the fight. There was no way that the Joshua-Wilder fight could be negotiated under those terms.

Hearn has been trying to put a positive spin on being wrong about the Wilder-Fury fight taking place by saying it’s a good thing because now he can match Joshua against the winner of hat fight and it’ll bring in a lot more money. Unfortunately, few boxing fans think Hearn is going to let his golden goose Joshua in with Fury or Wilder in 2019. Hearn has his Matchroom Sport stable fighters Dillian Whyte and Jarrell ‘Big Baby’ Miller that boxing fans believe that he’s going to be matching against Joshua in 2019. Whyte is expected to be Joshua’s opponent on April 13 at Wembley Stadium. Hearn has been talking about wanting to match Wilder against Joshua if he’ll accept his $15 million flat fee offer, but the general belief if Hearn doesn’t want Wilder to fight AJ. He wants Whyte or Miller as Joshua’s opponent for April.

Fury still needs to win his fight against Francesco Pianeta next week on August 18 for him to face Wilder in November.
