Tyson Fury: Wilder is the most dangerous fighter on the planet

Tyson Fury has dogged Deontay Wilder in the past, but now that he’s selling a potential fight with him for later this year, he’s really got nothing but good things to say about the WBC heavyweight titleholder.

From ESPN:

“Deontay Wilder’s the most dangerous fighter on the planet today active, barring none. Very dangerous fighter, massive puncher. Very unorthodox and very quick, mobile for a big man. … I’ll find a way beating him, like I always do, 26 times before. I’ll find a way. Where there’s a will, there’s a way, and I’ve got a big will, a massive ego, so I’m sure I’ll do it.”

Fury (26-0, 19 KO) returned to the ring this year after not fighting in 2016 or 2017, following his 2015 win over Wladimir Klitschko. He beat Sefer Seferi in a pure mismatch on June 9, and is now lined up to face veteran Francesco Pianeta on August 18, in what looks like it’s meant to be a final tune-up before Fury, 29, returns to the highest levels of the sport.

Wilder (40-0, 39 KO) missed out on a September bout with Anthony Joshua, which would have been a full unification of the heavyweight division, and is currently without a dance partner. There’s been speculation that he could fight Dominic Breazeale late this year, and Eddie Hearn says he plans to make a serious offer for Wilder to face Dillian Whyte, but Fury says the negotiations are close to done, and it’s easily the biggest money fight out there for both guys right now.
