FILIPINO pug Robert Udtohan will face Xiao Jun Quio in a non-title fight in the undercard of WBA World super bantamweight championship on September 30 in Wenzhou, China.

Udtohan (23 wins-1 losses-3 draws-15 KOs) is accompanied by his manager Brico Santig and trainer Roldan Bullong of Highland Promotions. Udtohan previously scored a 1st round knockout against Mike Espanosa last February 20 at the Taguig Sports Complex.

“He’s now in good condition and ready to fight,” said Santig.

Udtohan twice fought in two separate championship bouts. But he settled for a draw in both fights. Udtohan first had a majority draw with Alvin Makiling for the interim WBO Asia Pacific bantamweight title last May 13, 2012 at the Yñares Sports Arena in Pasig City.

The 28-year old native of San Isidro, Davao del Norte also had a technical draw with Edison Berwela for the vacant WBC Asian Boxing Council Continental super bantamweight title last March 29, 2015 at the Makati Square Boxing Arena in Makati.

Xiao Jun Qiu (20W-3L-0D-9KOs), 26, retained his WBA International super bantamweight title by a unanimous decision against Raymond Commey last February 12 at the Olympic Park Arena in Lu Zhou, China.

However, he lost by a 12th round TKO to Nehomar Cermeno in their title-fight for the vacant WBA World super bantamweight crown last June 24 at the Capital Gym in Beijng.

The Udtohan-Xiao fight is in the undercard of the WBA world super bantamweight title between Nehomar Cermeno and Anurak Thisa promoted by Liu Gang of Max Power Promotions.

It will also feature the WBA International super featherweight championship between Can Xu and Ramiro Blanco.
