Conor McGregor will need clearance from an orthopedic doctor, or else he faces being medically suspended until mid-February 2017.

The UFC 202 medical suspensions have been handed out, and the biggest news concerns that of headliner Conor McGregor. Following his thrilling main event win over Nate Diaz, there were some reports in the T-Mobile Arena that McGregor had suffered a broken foot. According to McGregor, his foot’s not broken, but his shin was bothersome.
Per the Nevada Athletic Commission, McGregor’s suspension will end on October 20th, with no contact until October 5th. He will still have his foot and ankle examined for any possible fractures. If he did suffer a fracture, he could be shelved until February 17th, 2017, which would take him out of all of the big UFC pay-per-view spots (UFC 205 at Madison Square Garden in November, UFC 207 on New Year’s Eve, and the UFC’s Super Bowl weekend show).
As for Nate Diaz, he’s suspended until September 20th, with no contact until September 11th after McGregor’s punches opened up a cut on his left eyebrow.
