Former UFC lightweight champion Anthony Pettis was one of five fighters to be issued a potential six-month medical suspension in the aftermath of UFC 229.

The Nevada Athletic Commission released the event’s finalized medical suspension report to MMA Fighting on Monday.

Pettis suffered a second-round TKO loss to Tony Ferguson in the night’s co-main event after his head coach, Duke Roufus, ended the fight between rounds due to Pettis sustaining a broken hand. As a result of potential damage suffered in the bout, Pettis will be forced to seek medical clearance on a different injury — a potential nasal fracture — or sit out six months before returning to active competition, per Nevada officials.

Aside from Pettis, four other fighters received potential six-month medical suspensions: Dominick Reyes (left leg), Jalin Turner (nasal fracture), Scott Holtzman (right hand, right foot), and Alan Patrick (left orbital).

UFC 229 took place Oct. 6 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. The night’s main card aired live on pay-per-view.

Notably, lightweight headliner Conor McGregor received a one-month medical suspension following his fourth-round submission loss to UFC champion Khabib Nurmagomedov.
