Another interesting match-up was added to UFC 235, with Marlon Vera taking on Thomas Almeida in a bantamweight bout at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on March 2. UFC announced the booking following a report by FloCombat.

Almeida (22-3) has his back against the wall after losing three of his last four fights inside the Octagon, dropping a decision to Jimmie Rivera and getting finished by Cody Garbrandt and Rob Font. The Chute Boxe talent, who at one point had a 4-0 record with four post-fight bonuses in the UFC, hasn’t won since November of 2016.

Vera (14-5-1) is riding a two-fight stoppage streak under the UFC banner, capped off by an exciting submission victory over Guido Cannetti at UFC Buenos Aires last November. The Ultimate Fighter: Latin America 1 alum is 6-4 since joining the company in 2014, scoring finishes in all but one of UFC his wins.

Headlined by a pair of championship bouts, Jon Jones vs. Anthony Smith at light heavyweight and Tyron Woodley vs. Kamaru Usman at welterweight, UFC 235 also includes Robbie Lawler vs. Ben Askren and Garbrandt vs. Pedro Munhoz.
