After back-to-back stoppage losses to reigning bantamweight champion T.J. Dillashaw, many expected a more conservative Cody Garbrandt to show up at UFC 235.

That appeared to be the case, until Garbrandt clashed heads with opponent Pedro Munhoz after ducking under a high kick.

After falling down from the headbutt, ‘No Love’ sprang back to his feet and started swinging for the fences until Munhoz dropped him with a right hand and finished the fight.

Fans can’t understand why, after two consecutive knockout losses to ex-teammate Dillashaw, Garbrandt was so reckless against Munhoz.

This is what 27-year-old had to say on social media.

Despite the accidental headbutt, Garbrandt has nothing but respect for Munhoz and congratulated the Brazilian on his career-defining performance.

Despite the criticism, Garbrandt earned a $50,000 Fight of The Night bonus for his brawl against Munhoz and the Team Alpha Male product is still considered a top bantamweight talent.

As of now, Garbrandt is still ranked at No. 2 in the official UFC bantamweight rankings.
