Newly crowned UFC interim middleweight champion Israel Adesanya and featherweight champion Max Holloway led the disclosed payroll for UFC 236, cashing a flat $350,000 purse apiece for their respective title fights. The Georgia Athletic and Entertainment Commission released the event’s finalized salary information on Monday to MMA Fighting.
Adesanya defeated Gastelum ($150,000) in a thrilling affair to capture the UFC interim middleweight title in the night’s co-headlining bout, while Holloway suffered a unanimous decision loss to Dustin Poirier ($250,000) in a failed bid for the UFC interim lightweight title in the main event.
UFC 236 took place April 13 at the State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia. The night’s main card aired live on ESPN+ pay-per-view.
Aside from the four championship fighters, only one other UFC 236 athlete cleared the six-figure mark in earnings: Nikita Krylov, who cashed a $160,000 paycheck for his second-round submission victory over Ovince Saint Preux.
In addition to their commission-reported salaries, Poirier, Holloway, Adesanya, and Gastelum also took home $50,000 fight night bonuses for their performances.
A complete list of the UFC 236 salaries can be seen below. As always, these figures do not represent a fighter’s total earnings, as certain sponsorship incomes, discretionary bonuses, and pay-per-view income are not publicly disclosed.
