For the first time ever, a strawweight bout will headline a UFC pay-per-view.
Rose Namajunas is going into enemy territory to take on Brazilian power-puncher Jessica Andrade in the UFC 237 main event in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. It’s the second defense of Namajunas’ title, and her first fight since beating Joanna Jedrzejczyk in their UFC 223 rematch last April.
As for the rest of the May 11th pay-per-view, the co-main event is a key men’s featherweight battle between legendary former champion Jose Aldo and Alexander Volkanovski, while middleweight Jared Cannonier takes on the great Anderson Silva. We also get the return of “Lil’ Nog,” as Antonio Rogerio Nogueira seeks a second straight victory when he faces Ryan Spann.
Oh yeah, B.J. Penn is fighting again. Be nice to him, Clay Guida.
