On a night packed with furious finishes, four worthy winners emerged.
Joseph Morales and Humberto Bandenay picked up $50,000 performance bonuses in their very first UFC fights, Dustin Ortiz finally earned some bonus love in his 11th Octagon appearance, and Niko Price also cashed in.
The bonuses were announced shortly after the conclusion of UFC Fight Night 114, which took place at the Arena Ciudad de Mexico in Mexico City on Saturday.
No Fight of the Night award was given, despite memorable main card tilts between Alexa Grassoand Randa Markos, and Alejandro Perez and Andre Soukhamthath.
Morales earned his bonus with a rear-naked choke of Roberto Sanchez that came after he rocked Sanchez with a stiff right hand. The other three fighters of recognition all won their checks due to knockouts.
Ortiz set a record for the fastest flyweight finish in UFC history with a 15-second KO of Hector Sandoval, and featherweight Bandenay almost beat that time by knocking out Martin Bravo in just 26 seconds. The 1:44 that Price needed to punch out Alan Jouban may seem pedestrian in comparison, but it was still impressive nonetheless.
All four men are first-time Performance of the Night winners.
