The UFC is making a return to Pittsburgh with a Fight Night event on September 16th, but it’s going to face some stiff competition. Despite all of the talk surrounding the Floyd Mayweather Jr. vs. Conor McGregor boxing match, another gigantic boxing event is going down just three weeks after that – Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez is fighting Gennady Golovkin on the same night as this UFC show. Needless to say, viewership might be down for this one.
To be fair though, the UFC has put together a card that is likely to feature a lot of action. The headliner will see former UFC middleweight champion Luke Rockhold making his long-awaited return. He’ll face off with former WSOF champ David Branch.
The co-headliner will see veteran Thiago Alves meeting rising prospect Mike Perry. Also likely featured on the main card will be Hector Lombard, Uriah Hall, and Kamaru Usman.
Here’s the current card, with the bout order not set as of yet:
Luke Rockhold vs. David Branch
Hector Lombard vs. Anthony Smith
Anthony Hamilton vs. Daniel Spitz
Uriah Hall vs. Krzysztof Jotko
Sergio Moraes vs. Kamaru Usman
Justin Ledet vs. Dmitriy Sosnovskiy
