UFC fighter rankings: Darren Till up big at welterweight, Michael Bisping removed

Darren Till is officially a contender. The English welterweight picked up a disputed unanimous decision over top-ranked Stephen Thompson last weekend in his hometown of Liverpool, and the UFC rankings panel took notice, driving him all the way up to the two spot at 170. This means there’s a new number one contender as well in the division.

Meanwhile, following the official retirement of former middleweight champion Michael Bisping, the rankings at 185 pounds were mixed up a bit due to his removal.

Here’s a look at all the changes (or lack thereof) coming out of UFC Liverpool.

P4P – No changes.

HeavyweightDerrick Lewis is up one to five. Mark Hunt is up one to six. And oddly, Junior dos Santos moved up a huge eight spots from 15 to seven. That came out of nowhere. Junior Albini re-entered the rankings at 15.

Light Heavyweight – No changes.

Middleweight – Bisping’s removal saw pretty much everyone six and below move up a spot.Derek Brunson is at six, David Branch at seven, Lyoto Machida at eight, Brad Tavares at nine,Uriah Hall at ten. Antonio Carlos Junior is up one to 11. Paulo Costa and Elias Theodorou are up to 13 and 14 respectively. Krzysztof Jotko re-enters the list at 15.

Welterweight – Stephen Thompson’s loss led him to fall two spots, settling at three. Upcoming interim title challenger Rafael dos Anjos is the new number one contender. As mentioned, Till us up six spots to two after beating Wonderboy. Colby Covington is down one to four. Former champ Robbie Lawler slid two spots to five. Kamaru Usman and Demian Maia are down one to six and seven respectively. Neil Magny is up one to eight after his UFC Liverpool co-main event win. Jorge Masvidal fell two spots to nine. Leon Edwards and Gunnar Nelson flip-flopped the 13 and 14 spots.

Lightweight – No changes.

Featherweight – No changes.

Bantamweight – No changes.

Flyweight – No changes.

Women’s Bantamweight – Lina Lansberg is up three spots to 11. Irene Aldana, Lucie Pudilova, and Sarah Moras all fell one spot to 12-14 respectively.

Women’s Flyweight – Gillian Robertson re-entered the rankings at 15.

Women’s Strawweight – No changes.
