The lineup for UFC on FOX 27 is set.
A featherweight bout between Octagon newcomers Austin Arnett and Cory Sandhagen was officially added on Monday, bringing the amount of fights on Saturday’s show in Charlotte, N.C., to 11.
The bout was first reported by MMA Today.
Arnett (15-3) was most recently seen losing a unanimous decision to Brandon Davis on the Aug. 1 episode of Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series, a fight that earned Davis a UFC contract. The competitive contest kept Arnett on the UFC’s radar and now he looks to get back on the winning track. Prior to losing to Davis, the 26-year-old Arnett had won 13 consecutive contests, with 10 of those victories ending by way of knockout or submission.
Competing for the second time in eight days, Sandhagen (8-1) looks to capitalize on a 61-second win over Diaz brothers associate Jose Aguayo. The two met on the main card of Legacy Fighting Alliance 31 last Friday, with Sandhagen picking up a quick TKO win.
UFC on FOX 27 will be headlined by a rematch between former Strikeforce middleweight champion Ronaldo Souza and Derek Brunson.
