Misha Cirkunov is getting his chance to bounce back in his home country.
Coming off consecutive losses for the first time in his career, Cirkunov will look to return to the winner’s circle when he fights Patrick Cummins in a light heavyweight bout at UFC Moncton on Oct. 27, per TSN.
A native of Latvia with roots in Toronto, Cirkunov (13-4) had emerged as a contender at 205 pounds with a string of finishes in his first four UFC fights. However, he’s now failed to make it out of the first round in back-to-back contests against Glover Teixeira and Volkan Oezdemir.
Cummins (10-5) is also coming off of a loss, having been outpointed by Corey Anderson in April. He is 3-3 in his last six fights, with wins over Gian Villante, Jan Blachowicz, and Rafael “Feijao” Cavalcante.
Also added to the show is a light heavyweight bout between Villante (16-10) and Ed Herman (23-13, 1 NC), a lightweight bout between Thibault Gouti (12-4) and Nasrat Haqparast (9-2), a bantamweight bout between Gavin Tucker (10-1) and Andre Soukhamthath (12-6), and a women’s bantamweight bout between Sarah Moras (5-3) and Talita Bernardo (5-3).
The Tucker-Soukhamthath matchup was first reported by FloCombat.
UFC Fight Night 138 takes place at the Moncton Events Centre in Moncton, New Brunswick, on Oct. 27.
