Jimi Manuwa planted Corey Anderson with a big left hook to win the UFC London main event.
The main event of UFC London didn’t last very long. England’s own Jimi Manuwa annihilated Corey Anderson with one left hook in the opening round, giving the home fans a great finish to end the night’s action.
After a half-hearted shot by Anderson, Manuwa drilled his foe with a left hook to the body. Anderson stayed light on his feet, while Manuwa stayed in front of Corey and stuffed the takedown. Another takedown by Anderson was unsuccessful, but he made sure Manuwa couldn’t land any shots after sprawling. Manuwa drilled Anderson with a left hook and that turned his lights out. No additional blows were necessary, and Manuwa picked up his second straight KO win, while giving Anderson his second defeat in his last three outings.
Official result: Jimi Manuwa def. Corey Anderson by KO (punch) at 3:05 of round 1
Manuwa called for a title fight against the Daniel Cormier vs. Anthony Johnson winner, as well as a boxing match with David Haye. Chances are the title shot is more likely.
