Top heavyweight prospect Tyrell Fortune is back in action this Saturday.
The unbeaten 28-year-old will face Ryan Pokryfky on the preliminary portion of Bellator 216 at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Conn. This bout was officially added to the event page just days away from fight night (h/t MMA DNA).
Fortune (5-0) made his professional debut under the Bellator banner back in November 2016 following an amateur wrestling career that saw him capture championships at the junior college and Division II levels. He most recently fought last June at Bellator 201, defeating Giovanni Sarran by second-round TKO. That was the third knockout win of Fortune’s career.
Fighting out of Michigan, Pokryfky (6-5) snapped a three-fight losing streak in his last outing, defeating Matthew Comer via strikes in the third round at an IT Fight Series show in January. He also owns a knockout win over UFC heavyweight Allen Crowder.
Bellator 216 will be headlined by a Welterweight World Grand Prix quarter-final matchup between Michael “Venom” Page and Paul Daley, and stream live on DAZN.
