DAVAO CITY –- Undefeated Jenel “The Demolition Man” Lauza of Iloilo will take on Angelito “Matrix” Merin of Bukidnon on July 20 at the Quibors Boxing Gym in Bacoor, Cavite.The 30-year old Lauza (8W-0L-1D, 4KO) beat Butuan’s Rolly Llino by a split decision last Feb. 26 in Quezon City.He also settled a split decision against Pasay’s Jon-Jon Estrada to win the interim Philippine Boxing Federation super bantamweight title last 2016.The 29-year old Merin (10W-10L-3D, 4KO) won by 1st round over Cotabato’s Dingdong Quinones last Dec. 23.Merin, however, lost by a 2nd round knockout against Ifugao’s Roy Nagulman to the interim PBF bantamweight title last March 19, 2019.Merin also lost by a TKO over Mike Plania of Gen. Santos City in the 4th round last Polomolok in the battle for the vacant WBC Asian Boxing Council Silver super bantamweight last Sept. 9.The promoter is Joseph Quibral of Quibral Boxing Promotion Inc.
