Amidst a huge turnout led by mayor René Olive, WBF Womens World Featherweight Champion Angelique Duchemin was laid to rest last Saturday in her hometown of Thuir, France, close to Perpignan near the Spanish border.
The “Princess of the Ring” broke down with heart problems during training and was immediately admitted to hospital, where on Tuesday morning last week she shockingly passed away at just 26 years of age due to pulmonary embolism.
The World Boxing Federation will continue to honour and treasure her memory. Farewell, Champion.
