Uthok looking for a major upset vs. Magsayo

DAVAO CITY — Thai fighter Panya Uthok of Bangkok is looking for a major upset in defeating Mark “Magnifico” Magsayo of Tacloban City on Aug. 31 at the Bohol Wisdom School Gym in Tagbilaran City.
Named as the “Filipino Executioner”, Uthok (53W-6L-0D, 35KO) beat by a unanimous decision Carlo “The Ferocious” Magali of  Bohol last April 20 in Workpoint Studio, Bang Phun, Thailand. Magali was the 17th Filipino casualty by Uthok. Uthok is tough, aggressive and has nothing to lose but everything to gain. Among Uthok’s past victims were AJ “Bazooka” Banal of Bukidnon and Jetro “Silent Operator” Pabustan of Sarangani.Banal was TKO’d by Uthok in the 9th round to win the vacant WBO World bantamweight title in SM Mall of Pasay while Pabustan was the last one he beat by a technical decision last Feb. 12, 2016 in Thailand.Uthok was then defeated by Marlon Tapales of Lanao del Norte by a knockout in the 11th round in Ayutthaya in April 27, 2016. Uthok did not fight for one year in 2017.He came back in April 27, 2018 but he lost by a split decision to Filipino Australia-based Czar Amonsot in Australia.Uthok tried his second chance again but he lost to Australia’s Paul Fleming by a unanimous decision in Dec. 1 in New South Wales, Australia.Uthok finally won in his 3rd comeback fight over Magali.Uthok will fight Magsayo (19W-0L, 14KO) for the vacant World Boxing Council Asian Boxing Council and vacant International Boxing Federation Pan Pacific featherweight titles. The promoter of the boxing is Vikram Swapragasam of Vladimir Boxing.
