On July 21 in the “Bubble” of the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, former Mexican world champion Oscar Valdez, will face the experienced Puerto Rican Jayson Velez, in the main fight of the show.
In the backup bout, Puerto Rican super middleweight Edgar Berlanga (13-0, 13 KOs), who has knocked out the 13 rivals will seek to extend his streak against Eric Moon (11-2, 6 KOs).
The card will also highlight the long-awaited return of Kim Clavel, the undefeated fighter recognized for her work as a nurse during the COVID-19 pandemic, facing undefeated Natalie González.
aldez (27-0, 21 KOs) has won three fights since his March 2018 war against Scott Quigg, in which he got a jaw injury. Valdez took almost a year off and moved up to super featherweight late last year. In his last fight, on November 30 in Las Vegas, he survived a knockdown in the second round to knock out Adam López in the seventh round.
Vélez (29-6-1, 21 KOs), from Juncos, Puerto Rico, has extensive experience against quality rivals including Evgeny Gradovich, Juan Manuel López, Jaime Arboleda, Ronny Rios, and Joseph Diaz. Jayson has never been knocked out in his career which spans nearly 13 years.
