Valdez-Quigg: Oscar Valdez’s open media workout

As WBO featherweight champion Oscar Valdez (23-0, 19 KOs) prepares to defend his belt against Scott Quigg (34-1-2, 25 KOs) next weekend, he holds an open media workout where he displays his current form.

During the media workout Valdez jumps some rope and does some light shadowboxing before he puts on the gloves to go through a mitt workout where he flashes he speed, power, and accuracy. You can definitely see that Valdez has been working on maintaining his preferred range while not sacrificing his damaging punches.

Valdez is most recently coming off a unanimous decision over Genesis Servania last September and has been saying that the style match-up with Quigg should produce some fun fireworks for the fans.

Meanwhile Quigg is entering this fight following a knockout win over Oleg Yefimovych in November, his third straight win since dropping a split decision to Carl Frampton in early 2016. He’ll be looking to add a second world title to his resume in this outing.
