VAQUERO NAVARRETE IN LAS VEGAS READY TO MAKE HISTORY

Emanuel “Vaquero” Navarrete is already in Las Vegas where this Friday, he will seek to make history by entering the list of Mexican world champions in at least two divisions.

Navarrete (31-1, 27 KO’s) will face American Rubén Villa (18-0-0, 5 ko’s) this Saturday, at Casino MGM Grand, in an attractive Top Rank feature that will be broadcast on ESPN.

El “Vaquero” closed his training last weekend in the State of Mexico, and his performance left his team very pleased.

With the great condition, speed and strength, Navarrete will step into the ring being a better version of himself and fighting in a more natural way, without the sacrifice that going down to 122 pounds represented

Going thru strenuous work in the week before the fight, Navarrete is already practically in the 126-pound weight within a week of entering the ring.

Navarrete was WBO Super Bantamweight World Champion from December 2018 to February 2020, making five title defenses.

In his most recent presentation, on June 20 at CdMx, he knocked out Uriel López in the 6th round, in what was his featherweight debut.

His rival for the weekend’s war is Californian Rubén Villa.

Villa was a finalist in the United States qualifiers for the Rio 2016 Olympic Games.

He is a left-handed guard and is the current WBO International Feather Champion.

Rubén Villa had a high-impact 2019, which began in January by beating Rubén Cervera (10-0) who was undefeated. In May he won the international title by defeating Luis Alberto López.

In September Villa, 23, also bested undefeated José Enrique Dorantes (17-0) and in January of this year, in his most recent presentation, he beat Alexei Collado (26-2).

The WBO Feather World Championship is vacant because of the resignation of Shakur Stevenson, who conquered it in October of last year but renounced the title, without defending it to move up to Super Featherweight.

Navarrete VS Villa for the vacant WBO Featherweight World Title in Las Vegas. May the Best Man Win.
