DAVAO CITY – Undefeated light flyweight Mark “Thunder” Vicelles of Lebak, Sultan Kudarat is not afraid of Jerven “Iron Fist” Mama of Gen. Santos City.
“Wala ra man, sakto man sad ko sa training (Not only that, but I was also right in training)”, said the 25-year-old Vicelles (13W-0L-1D, 7KOs).
Vicelles is rated no. 7 by the World Boxing Council, no. 12 by International Boxing Council, and no. 8 by the World Boxing Organization.
He had 10 sparring against his companions at the Omega Boxing Gym in Cebu.
Among them are featherweight Pete “Thunder” Apolinar (14W-1L-0D, 8KOs), light flyweight Christian “The Bomb” Araneta (19W-2L-0D, 15KOs), and featherweight Franco Serafica (5W-1L-0D, 3KOs).
Vicelles is currently watching the videos of Mama’s previous fights.
“Yes, sige ko tan aw sa video niyo (Yes, I always watch his video)”, said Vicelles.
Mama of the Sanman Promotions is also undefeated with a record of 12 wins with seven knockouts and one draw.
But Vicelles is not surprised.
“Gagawin ko lahat para manalo ako sa laban namin (I will do everything to win our battle)”, said Vicelles.
“Para po sa pamilya ko at sa bayan ng Lebak, Sultan Kudarat (For my family and the town of Lebak, Sultan Kudarat)”, he added.
The fight of Kumbati 10 is the co-main event between Apolinar against Jess Rhey Waminal (14W-3L-1D, 8KOs) of Bukidnon for the OPBF Silver featherweight championship.
