If things were bad for Rousimar Palhares in 2015 when he likely ended his time fighting for “premier promotions” by refusing to release a kimura in defeating Jake Shields at WSOF 22, they’ve gotten much worse since.

Friday, Palhares suffered a 58-second knockout loss at the hands of Aliaskhab Khizriev at Fight Nights Global 85 in Moscow.

Palhares has only picked up one victory in his five most recent fights — all coming since the controversy that led to the end of his time with WSOF. He also missed weight for the bout, adding to the list of issues that have plagued his career for years.

As for Khizriev, he is now 10-0 with six stoppage victories in his career. The fight-ending flurry captured the Russian interim welterweight championship gold and put him in line for a title unification bout with FNG welterweight champ Georgiy Kichigin.
