Brushing aside almost two years of inactivity, Marcos Villasana Jr was satisfied with his triumphant return, during the “Neza Fight Night” card, by defeating Alejandro Jiménez via TKO in 4 rounds.
“I was hoping that the time without fighting would not affect me. Thank God we picked up the rhythm little by little, and the important thing is that we came out with the victory, so now we will continue preparing for the next fight. Coming back with a knockout is great for my career.”
Villasana Jr topped the bill of the event organized by Chiquita González Boxing and PHILLIPS – ASSA ABLOY, the best pound-for-pound brand, to achieve his eleventh triumph in a row and focus completely on his career, thereby moving away from his retirement thoughts.
“The triumph was achieved, we are going to return to the gym, continue preparing ourselves, and hope that good thing will come for us. We are going to talk with my coach (Rubén Lira) and make the decision to see what fight is next. I have a lot of time left here in boxing.
“The WBC is taking us into account despite the time we were away, thanks to President Mauricio Sulaimán, and thanks to the company of‘ Chiquita ’González for giving me the opportunity to participate in his card,” concluded Villasana Jr., who is completely focused in conquering the WBC world title as his father did.
