Two Judges scored the bout 115 – 112 and 114 – 112 in favor of Villasana Jr., while another Judge differed with 114 – 113 in favor of the Cuban.
With this hard won victory from a very difficult fight, Villasana Jr. won the Latin Silver lightweight title, endorsed by the World Boxing Council.
