Orthodox Virgel “Valiente” Vitor of Tagbilaran City will fight Arnon Yupang of Thailand for the vacant World Boxing Organization Oriental super featherweight title on September 9 in Dimiao, Bohol.
“Right now I need to lose four pounds,” said 25-year-old Vitor, who needs to gain at least 130 pounds.
Vitor, who has 18 wins, 2 loses with 11 knockouts, has already won two fights this year.
Vitar first knocked out Jecker Buhawe of Davao City in the 1st round last June 10 at Barangay Manga School covered court in Tagbilaran.
He then stopped Ivor Lastrilla of Tacloban City in the 2nd round last July 23 at Barangay Cogon gym in Tagbilaran City.
Vitar, who is training at the PMI Boxing Stable at Taloto in Tagbilaran, is with Jason Tinampay (12-16-1, 10KOs), Arnel Tinampay (26-26-1, 12KOs) and Antonio Siesmundo (8-4-0, 7KOs) as his sparring partners.
“I’m excited because this is my first time against a foreigner for a title fight,” said Vitar.
Vitor then stopped Ivor Lastrilla of Tacloban City in the 2nd round last July 23 at Barangay Cogon Gym in Tagbilaran.
Vitor now has 18 wins, two loses with 11 knockouts.
Yupang, on the other hand, has nine wins, two loses with three knockouts. He also got two fights already this year.
But Yupang first lost to compatriot Kittithat Ungsrivongs by a unanimous decision for vacant Asian Boxing Federation super featherweight last May 24 at Rangsit International Stadium in Rangsit, Thailand.
Yupang won his second bout against Taweechai Junterasuk by a unanimous decision last August 6 at Spaceplus Bangkok RCA in Bangkok.
