JAPANESE Shingo Wake will be fighting the undefeated Jonathan “Salomon King” Guzman of Dominican Republic for the vacant IBF World super bantamweight title on July 20 at the EDION Arena in Osaka, Japan.
The 28-year old Wake has a record of 20 wins, 12 knockouts, 4 loses and 2 draws while Guzman, 26, is unbeaten with 21 straight wins all by KOs.
Guzman, a former WBA Fedelatin bantamweight champion, stopped Daniel Rosas in the 8th round last April 29 in New Jersey, USA.
Wake, also the Orient Pacific Boxing Federation super bantamweight title-holder, recently knocked out Indonesian Waldo Sabu in the 5th round last February 17 at the Korakuen Hall in Tokyo.
In his last and 5th title-defense of his OPBF crown, Wake stopped Jimmy Paypa only in the first round last Feb. 27, 2015 at the Korakuen Hall.
The Wake-Guzman 12-rounder is the main event of the boxing card promoted by Kazunori Ioka of the Ioka Promotions.
