WANG WINS VACANT WBC ASIAN BOXING COUNCIL LIGHTWEIGHT TITLE

ZHIMIN Wang landed more telling blows to beat Filipino fighter Anthony Sabalde by a unanimous decision to capture the vacant WBC Asian Boxing Council lightweight title last December 10 at the Asia Game Stadium in Guangzhou, China.
Judges Wu De Bing and Melissa Wong both scored it 100-90 while Filipino judge Danrex Tapdasan saw it 98-92 all in favor of Wang.
The 32-year old Wang now has 10 wins with 3 knockouts against only 2 losses and no draw while 25-year old Sabalde of Cebu dropped to 12W-7L-0D, 7 KOs.
The fight was supervised by Damrong Simakajornboon of Thailand.
Meanwhile, Kurtis Pegoraro won two vacant titles by whipping Eugen Buchmueller via a unanimous decision in the main supporting bout.
Pegoraro is now both WBC Asian Boxing Council Continental and WBO China Zone heavyweight champion.
Judges Surat Soikrachang and Mekin Sumon both scored it 100-90 while mark Leong had it 99-91 all for Pegoraro.
The supervisors of the title fight were Simakajornboon (WBC Asia) and Abraham Khalil Mitra (WBO China Zone).
In the undercard, Jianzheng Wang remained unbeaten by stopping Suthat Kalakek by a TKO in the 6th round to pocket the vacant WBO China Zone cruiserweight title.
The boxing card was promoted by Jiashu Chen of the China International Boxing Indus with Aku Zhang as the matchmaker. It was sanctioned by the Professional Boxing Commission of China. (LITO DELOS REYES)
