WBA #11 lightweight Brendan Ogilivie (17-1, 9 KOs) stopped Amphon Suriyo (18-2, 14 KOs) in round six of a scheduled ten round WBA Oceania title bout at Eaton Recreation Centre, Bunbury, Western Australia on Saturday. The referee crowned Ogilivie at 2:27.
Suriyo of Thailand, was previously defeated in Australia in June by former IBF 126 pound champion Billy Dib who outscored him over twelve rounds. Ogilvie, 22 years of age, was coming off a ten round draw against Yoshitaka Kato in Japan in June.
