THE WBC CONGRATULATES SERGIO “MARAVILLA” MARTÍNEZ FOR SENATE AWARD

 The World Boxing Council and its President Mauricio Sulaiman, congratulate former world champion and icon, Sergio “Maravilla” Martinez for  being specially recognized by the Argentinian Senate.

Sergio was a great champion who always gave his absolute utmost  in the ring, but above all he has always proved to be a great overall person.

The Sports Committee of the Argentine Senate, led by Julio César Catalán Magni, held a ceremony in which the “Delfo Cabrera 2017” prize was presented to “Maravilla” for being an exemplary sportsman.

“This is a recognition of the work and effort  of an amazing athlete,” said Catalán Magni, President of the Sports Commission of the Senate.

For his part, after receiving the award, Sergio commented: “It’s nice being recognized for my career, but this award is special as it recognizes what we do beyond sport. Without a doubt, it is one of the most special  awards that I have ever received. ”
