WBC determined to further develop women’s boxing

Chairman of WBC Women’s Boxing Malte Muller told the Cyber Convention that they have come so far in fifteen years and so much remains to be achieved.

The tangible success was seen in a fight film with a soundtrack of: “Hit me with your best shot.” It shows women fighters giving their absolute all.
In the fifteen years the WBC has been sanctioning women’s boxing there have been more than four hundred championship fights, and 36 champions are recognized. The WBC waives sanction fees for women boxers. There have been three WBC female Conventions and the next will happen, post-pandemic.

In the last year, there were twenty-nine world title fights. Studies continue about dehydration and concussion. The WBC is determined women’s fights will remain at two minutes per round, and ten championship rounds, because safety is the number one priority. Quality rather than duration is the key factor.

All major promotions companies have now embraced women’s boxing. The WBC continues to work in the quest for fair play, and also fair play.
