For a brilliant and distinguished 50-year career in boxing, Jorge Zárate Serna was honoured at the gymnasium of the Metro Collective Transportation System of Mexico City.
With the presence of world champions mingling with legends Humberto “Chiquita” González, the glory of Matanzas, Cuba, Ultiminio Ramos, Jorge Zarate Serna, the brother of the honored Carlos “Cañas” Zárate, flanked by Victor Rabanales, Edgar Sosa, Adrián Hernández , Antonio Pitalua, was presented the emblematic wonderful green and gold belt of the World Boxing Council, a red badge of courage recognition for his brilliant career along with a glowing letter of praise sent to him by WBC President Mauricio Sulaimán Saldivar.
Jorge Zárate was deeply moved by this recognition saying: “Throughout my career, the greatest satisfaction is undoubtedly being able to continue in this sport that I love as long as God allows me. Always with the aim of getting good fighters, but above all to help them to leave vices outside their life. ”
