WBC LIGHT HEAVYWEIGHT DIVISION STATUS

The WBC published on Thursday, January 11^th, 2018 a timeline of the lightheavyweight division which can be found at the following link http://wbcboxing.com/wbceng/news/9917-wbc-lightheavyweight-division-status-clarification

The WBC Board of Governors has voted in favor of the following resolution:

1.      The WBC will sanction the WBC interim title fight between Oleksandr Gvozdyk and Mehdi Amar, on March 17^th in New York.

2.      The WBC will sanction Adonis Stevenson vs Badou Jack on May 19^th.

3.      The winners of both bouts will fight with a split percentage of WBC champion 65%, WBC interim champion 35%.

4.      Eleider Alvarez will maintain the mandatory status to fight the winner of the champion vs interim champion.
