At a press conference at the local Terrazas de Luna, in the town of San Germán, Puerto Rico, Empire Boxing Promotions and Black Tiger Promotions presented more details of the first edition of the historic card called ‘Honor in the Mountain
It’l be on Saturday, August 19, 2017 at the Samuel’ Sammy ‘Rodríguez Coliseum in Aguas Buenas, Puerto Rico.
The main event will be historical because for the first time in Puerto Rico, the prestigious World Boxing Council’s Youth championship,will be at stake, when Yomar ‘The Magic’ Alamo (13-0, 10 KO) will fight the Hungarian , Zsigmond Vass (13-5, 2 KO).
“For me it is a great honor to be able to fight in front my people from Aguas Buenas and make history because the WBC youth title will be on the line. I am training very hard because I know that tough fights are ahead and where better than starting in my home town,” said Yomar Alamo.
The president of Black Tiger Promotions, Carlos Maldonado commented: “Mauricio Sulaimán, President of the WBC, confirmed his presence, because he wants the WBC to have many champions in Puerto Rico and he is determined to support us. We also want to report that for each ticket sold, we will be donating a portion to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital to help a great cause.”
On the undercard, former London 2012 Olympian Jantony Ortiz (7-0, 4 KO’s) from Junuma’s Humacao neighborhood, will be looking for his first professional boxing title when he faces Chilean Robinson Lavinanza (11- 4-1, 4 KO) for the WBC FECARBOX belt in 118-pounds division.
This historical card is promoted by Empire Boxing Promotions in association with Black Tiger Promotions.
