The “My First Boxing Gloves” campaign got underway this week in Germany with WBO #1 rated light heavyweight Dominic Bösel speaking to young people at a number of sports clubs and passing out boxing gloves provided by SES Boxing and TopTen/Budoland. The boys and girls were all between six and fourteen years old.
Dominic Bösel: “If you’re very successful in sports, you have to look back to your sporting roots. For me, good boxing training under good conditions was the best starting point. I’m very grateful for this day and with our campaign, I’d like to give something back to today’s youth for a good athletic start with their own boxing gloves. Even after passing out the first few, the glowing eyes of the boys and girls has touched me. Today at the Sportschule International here in Leipzig was similarly emotional. Sometimes it’s so easy to make a difference for German boxing!”
