WBO Oriental Youth Flyweight Champion Jayson Mama (11-0, 6 KO’s) tipped in the scales at 111.3 pounds while IBF Pan Pacific Flyweight Champion Teeraphong Utaida (38-6-1, 21 KO’s) came in at 111.1 pounds ahead of their fight tomorrow afternoon in Beijing, China.

The fighters compete in the finals of IBF Silkroad Tournament.

Mama is the clear underdog in going against the veteran Utaida.

For Sanman Boxing Promotions CEO Jim Claude Manangquil, “records are nothing in fights. Battles are won in the training camp. It’s on how hard you work for your game. I have seen Mama train. He is determined to take home the belt and he will,” Manangquil said.

For Jayson Mama, “this is a great opportunity to showcase my talent. I am fighting a durable veteran. I am the newbie here, but I will prove to everyone that I am the real thing. My advantage is youth. I am younger and hungrier. Now is my time”, Mama said.
